Connecting a Chromebook to a Verizon Hotspot
Purpose of this document
This document will provide steps to connect a Chromebook to the JPS-issued wireless hotspot. A working Internet connection is required to log into a Chromebook.
Procedure
1. Turn on the Wireless Hotspot unit by pressing and holding the on button for three seconds. You will see the Ellipsis screen booting.

2. Once the Jetpack finishes booting, you will see the following screen.
3. Turn on the JPS Chromebook. When the login screen appears, do not attempt to log in yet.
4. At the bottom right of the screen, click on the time.
5. Select “Not connected”. The Chromebook Internet will turn on automatically if it is turned off.
6. The Chromebook will show a list of available internet networks. Select the Ellipsis Jetpack CD50 from the list (example list below).
7. Type the Internet (Wi-Fi) network password. This password can be obtained by pressing the front button on the hotspot three times. The password will be eight characters in length.
Once the Chromebook has successfully connected to the Internet (Wi-Fi), you can log into your Chromebook with your JPS username and password.
8. Turning off the hotspot – When you are finished with the hotspot, you can turn it off by holding the front button for 3-4 seconds until you see the word GOODBYE in the screen. It may take a few seconds to power down.
