Connecting a Chromebook to a T-Mobile Hotspot
Purpose of this Document
This document will provide steps to connect a Chromebook to a T-Mobile Franklin T9 hotspot.
Procedure - Starting the T-Mobile Franklin T9 Hotspot
1. Before using your hotspot, ensure that the battery is fully charged. Be sure to use the charger that came with your device.
2. To turn on the hotspot, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the screen displays "Welcome".

3. Once the hotspot finishes booting, you will see the following screen.
4. Turn on the JPS Chromebook. When the login screen appears, do not attempt to log in yet.
5. At the bottom right of the screen, click on the time.
6. Select “Not connected”. The Chromebook Internet will turn on automatically if it is turned off.
7. The Chromebook will show a list of available internet networks. Select the Franklin T9 XXXX (XXXX being any combination of four numbers) from the list (example list below).
8. Type the Internet (Wi-Fi) network password. This password can be obtained by pressing the front button on the hotspot three times. The password will be eight characters in length.
9. Click on the "Connect" button. Once the Chromebook has successfully connected to the Internet (Wi-Fi), you can log into your Chromebook with your JPS username and password.
Turning off the hotspot – When you are finished with the hotspot, you can turn it off by holding the front button for 3-4 seconds until you see the word GOODBYE in the screen. It may take a few seconds to power down.
