Adding Chrome Extensions

Purpose of this document

The purpose of this document is to instruct the user on installing approved extensions into ChromeOS.

Procedure - NOTE: The extension or application requested must be approved by Instructional Technology and the Technology Department.

Open the Chrome Web Store (https://chrome.google.com/webstore ).
Find and select the extension you want (we will use Loom for Chrome for this example).
Click the Add to Chrome button.

Some extensions will let you know if they need certain permissions or data. To approve, click the Add extension button. Important: Only Extensions that have been approved by JPS can be installed.

To use manage the extension, at the top to the right of the address bar, click

Extensions and then click on the Loom extension to see the options. To pin the Loom extension, click on the thumbtack next to the extension to make it turn blue.

Removing an Extension

Important: Extensions or applications that have been force installed by the G Suite administrator cannot be removed by the end user.

To uninstall the extension, at the top to the right of the address bar, click Extensions and then click on the next to the extension you want to uninstall. Choose Remove from Chrome from the list.

Click the Remove button in the verification window.
